Better Places to Serve

Improving workplaces in our state legislatures

We promote policies that strengthen who serves.

RPS is a multi-state policy campaign that works to advance commonsense policies in state legislatures across the country.

We invest in direct and grassroots advocacy efforts to advance bipartisan policy solutions.

About
Modernization

Too few women serve in state legislatures. Research shows that women are often deterred from running for state legislative seats because of quality of life issues.

To ensure that legislatures truly reflect the diversity of those they represent, it’s imperative to change workplace conditions so that public service is welcoming and hospitable to all.

Studies have shown that when women are decision makers, more policies pass in states, improving outcomes. This is our goal for people and communities across the country.

Responsive Policy Solutions strives to improve state legislatures as workplaces by developing policies that make them more professional, supportive, and accessible places for everyone who serves.

We build diverse, durable coalitions.

We aim to leverage the political power of all in our network, and work closely with others who share our policy goals.

Our leaders are powerful changemakers.
